Ewedu soup is made from the leafy green vegetable the jute mallow leaves are considered a medicinal plant but scientifically nomenclature as Corchorus olitorius.

The leaves are made into soup and eaten. Just like chef, Lola did in the featured recipe video by giving a quick and easy procedure on how to pluck the leaves from the plant and how to make it into soup. The leaves’ mucilaginous nature is similar to Okro/Okra this is one of the many reasons people love it. It can be paired with any carbohydrate (swallow) and protein of your choice.
