Nutritionist and Fitness coach, Dr. Chinasa Amadi was a guest on Your View TVC where she spoke on the link between nutrition and cancer where she cited and referenced the World cancer research fund report.
Dr. Chinasa Amadi cleared the air by saying, “Nutrition has a great impact in lowering the risk of cancer occurrences especially cancers like breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer.”
Speaking further she stated that “what we eat and what we do not eat is a great determinant. It either increases our risk or it lowers our risk”
Answering questions on foods to be eaten and to be avoided Dr. Chinasa disclosed that “based on evidence, we’ve seen that eating foods that are whole foods and plant-based.”
She elaborated by saying “whole foods are foods that are closer to the ground and are predominantly plant”
Speaking on recommendation by the aforementioned report, “the degree of processing” according to Dr. Chinasa is how you can determine a whole food “when you can’t really determine the distance from the farm to your plate you realize that that is not a whole food.” she said.
