The Grand Finale of the eastern edition of the Maggi cook-off targeted at young and aspiring cooks from the eastern part of Nigeria, Maggi O Setigo set in Lagos took place Sunday, July 18th 2021.
The last stage of the competition saw the top three Maggi Osetigo contestants { Grace Okoro, Uwem Effiong & Okeoma Uchechukwu } prepare Nni mme mme which translates to “celebratory meals”.
Recall, the competition saw 12 young cooks emerge from the pop-up kitchen competition which was staged in 6 cities in the eastern part of Nigeria. The top three contestants Grace Okoro,
Uwem Effiong, and Okeoma Uchechukwu battled in the finals in the Maggi Osetigo kitchen.
However, the Grand Finale saw Uwem Effiong emerge 1st (Winner), Grace Okoro 2nd place, and Okeoma Uchechukwu won in the 3rd place they were rewarded with cash prizes of ₦1,000,000, ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 respectively.
What we know about the top three winners:
Uwem, Grace and Okeoma were selected from the intrastate Maggi O Setigo pop-up competition in Awka, Port Harcourt and Owerri. They competed alongside other 9 other contestants for weeks in the O setigo kitchen where they showcase their cooking skill, endured the heat and treated the judges to heartwarming eastern Nigerian cuisine which made them emerge top three winners of the Maggi O Setigo cooking competition.
