Food related emojis have become the millennial go to when referring to food or food items on social media. Reports gathered says the use of these emojis when typing might have “tripled” only this year. Probably because of the lock down that kept us all indoors for months.
Statistics obtained from Twitter Data (on the annual recap on trends and how the social platform fared in the year) suggests that many people craved sweet treats as compared to any other type of food through the use of food related emojis this year.
According to Twitter Data, “Tweets about cooking nearly tripled this year (but that banana bread craze surged for only about three months and is now closer to normal-times levels), and the trends in food-related emojis suggest that everyone developed a serious sweet tooth and all those video calls created an upswing in adult beverages.”
