Food Criticking to be discussed this week on Black Book Webinar.

The penultimate episode of the Webinar “for black and non-white people within the hospitality and food media industry”, Black Book, will be conversing on ‘The Role of Food Critics’

Discussants will exert discourse on

‘what is the role of the food critic – are critics there to entertain, and therefore who are their audience, what expense is their entertainment at and should they not be held up as food experts?’

Black Book is however, asking “can critics be a vehicle for knowledge, akin to a translator (such as Soleil Ho and Jonathan Gold? Can they be a voice to question the industry and advocate for good practice?
What is taste? Is it made in your mouth or on paper?”

To help make sense out of this — Jonathan Nunn, Jimi Famurewa, Kavita Meelu and Shola Olunloyo would be doing justice. They will be hosted by: Zoe Adjonyoh, Fozia Ismail and Eileen Twum.
