Twenty-six dynamic women in the food industry speak at the campaign #sharethemicfoodandbev

Share The Mic Food and Bev took place today Monday, July 20th 2020. It was a campaign for Black women who shape culture, touch the culinary & beverage space.
However, #sharethemicfoodandbev was inspired by the brilliant campaign #sharethemicnow, the aim of the campaign was to partner with White women allies to ensure that Black women’s voices are being heard at this critical juncture in our history.
As stated by the curator,

Lezli Levene Harvell, “When the world listens to women, they listen to White women.”

Since time immemorial, Black women have made and continue to make significant contributions and help shape culture through the culinary and beverage space; however, these contributions are often marginalized. This was the impetus for Lezli, to continue the work of #keepsharingthemic by organizing #sharethemicfoodandbev .
