#WorldMilkDay | “It is important to consume milk everyday, it cannot get you fat”

Nutrition Manager, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Adedotun Owolabi and Chairman, Nutrition Society of Nigeria Lagos Chapter, Dr Tosin Adu were guest today on TVC Entertainment breakfast show, Your View.

It was made known that the idea to celebrate ‘Milk Day’ was

initiated in 2001 by the UN FAO to actively encourage milk and dairy consumption as part of a daily diet.

The guests however, made these known:

“There is no age that you would stop needing milk. It is good for EVERYONE of every age. It is recommended for Children to take 2 cups daily and 3 cups daily for adults. Make it a habit to eat breakfast everyday and always include milk.”

“There is no scientific proof that milk consumption causes people to be fat. #WorldMilkDay is aimed at bringing the attention of people to the product itself and raising awareness of the health benefit of dairy products.”

“It is important to consume milk EVERYDAY, it cannot get you fat. It’s a nutrient dense product that contains a lot of protein, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamin A which would help you to stay healthy.”
