#Nigeriaat59 | Nigeria showcases map cake to mark her Independence.

Nigeria celebrated her 59th anniversary yesterday, Monday, October 1. The Independence Day celebration took place inside the presidential villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

In the spirit of celebrating her anniversary,

it has always been a tradition to cut the Independence cake this wasn’t different as a Nigerian map cake was showcased brightly decorated with the green and white color. Whereby, the green fondant was patterned with a love embroidery design. The cake had the country’s coat of arms boldly affixed to the center, also the ruling party’s tag “Next level” was placed at both sides. The lower base of the map cake was decorated with three-white sugar flowers that blossom.

The Independence Day cake was cut by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, service chiefs and other government officials that include some past government officials like ex-military head of state, Yakubu Gowon, and ex-military chief of staff, Oladipo Diya, amongst others.
