Celebrity chefs, Eric Ripert and Jose Andres announces the “ANTHONY BOURDAIN LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP” to help aspiring chefs study

One year after the passing of a great food adventurist, author, chef and Parts Unknown CNN anchor, Anthony Bourdain. The “ANTHONY BOURDAIN LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP” has been curated to honor him.

Celebrity chefs, Eric Ripert and Jose Andres with Culinary Institute America have teamed up to give aspiring chefs the opportunity to learn what they so much desire.

However, the school where Anthony learned to cook is introducing a travel-based scholarship in his memory. The Anthony Bourdain Legacy Scholarship will provide grant money to one or more Culinary Institute of America students per year to study abroad. Bourdain was a student at the school’s Hyde Park, New York campus back in 1978, and he received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in Culinary Arts from the CIA two years ago.

“Anthony Bourdain opened the world of food and different cultures to all through his brilliant storytelling,” according to Tim Ryan (CIA President), he said during the announcement of the scholarship. “He often came to campus to speak with students about food and world cultures, his career, and the importance of authenticity in being a chef.

It is therefore fitting that his memory is being honored at the CIA through a scholarship for students interested in experiencing cuisines and cultures around the globe.” The Culinary Institute of America is also planning a “permanent memorial” to Bourdain at the campus in Hyde Park sometime later this year.

Eric Ripert and Jose Andres announced via twitter in a video with the caption “REMINDER! JUNE 25th #BOURDAINDAY & what better way to Celebrate than to announce the
