“Who wants to eat a hamburger at the price of someone’s dignity?” Padma Lakshmi asked while speaking at the #nytnewrules Summit about the sexual harassment claims against McDonald’s

Muti-hyphenate Padma Lakshmi also the host of Top Chef was on the panel yesterday at a Summit put together by New York Times tagged New York Times New Rules Summit.

Padma while speaking on the McDonald’s sexual harassment claims she asked,

“Who wants to eat a hamburger at the price of someone’s dignity? ” She also implored McDonald’s to “meet directly with its workers” about the problem of sexual harassment in its restaurants. Padma took over the stage speaking on her drive to advocate for women and girls. She said, “You have to change the culture. Winning without equality isn’t really a win.”

Recall that since the allegations made against McDonald’s started gaining public attention, “McDonald’s announced new policies addressing sexual harassment, just as workers across the country filed complaints alleging sexual comments, touching, and other inappropriate behavior at McDonald’s stores.”
