GTBank Food Drink Festival 2019 — Highlights Day 2

The convergence of foodies across Lagos and it’s environs at the GTBank Food and Drink Centre was highly impressive. The food culture amongst various groups was put on display which tells alot about us as a people.

There was no Master class until evening around 5pm this was as a result of the tight schedule and of course a busy Monday irrespective of the day been busy it was yet a buzzing day at the GTBank Food and Drink Festival.

Today’s Masterclasses kickedoff with Food blogger, Photographer and Award-winning OAP, Matse Uwatse-Nnoli she mounted the podium around 5pm to discuss the topic “the secret to blending seasoning to perfection”.

The premium spice maker elaborately illustrated the topic and of course had a fun and engaging moment with foodies. During her Masterclass she was so generous to share her “CURRY recipe” which is a combination of earthy flavours and infusion of fragrant herbs.

{5TBSP coriander, 2TBSP cumin, 1TBSP powdered turmeric, 2tsp Ginger powder, 2tsp Mustard seed, 11/2 or 2tsp black pepper, 1tsp cardamom, 1tsp Cinnamon and 1/2tsp of chilli pepper} According to Matse, she’s been using it for over 4 years.

Matse one the other hand didn’t leave without sharing one of her proved and tested recipe which is the (Plantain Fritata).

Recipe: 1tsp paprika, 1/2tsp black pepper, 1tsp yaji, 1/2tsp pepper, 1/2tsp oregano, 1 seasoning cube, salt to taste, Bacon, Sausage, Bell peppers (green & red), eggs and plantain.

The second Masterclass for day 2 started at 6:14pm with Chef Cristina Duhalde founder of La Vender. He took attendees from Nigeria to Chile with the memorable dishes he created like the “Cevichendo“.

He selected some of the attendees for a taste test.

Today’s Master class was graced by many personalities and it ended with attendees bursting into various dance moves.
